Product Description:
Designed for use with the Blueair 200 Series air purifier, this replacement filter helps remove contaminants from the air. Its HEPASilent technology uses electrostatic and mechanical filtration to quickly and quietly capture 99.97-percent of particles down to 0.1 micron in size, including allergens such as pollen grains, dust mites, mold spores, and pet-dander particles. Just open the back side of the air purifier (not included), remove the used filter, and insert the replacement filter. Made of nontoxic polypropylene, the 100-percent-recyclable filter media produces only carbon dioxide and water as it decomposes, plus it's waterproof, which makes it naturally resistant to bacteria, viruses, and mold, without chemical additives or washes. For optimal performance, Blueair recommends replacing ?lters every six months. The replacement particle filter measures approximately 2-1/5 by 15 by 18 inches.

(More customer reviews)The little white capillary flow resistor, which needs to match and be replaced same time with the ro membrane filter wasn't included w/ the membrane filter. I had to buy one, which increased the price of the membrane. The whirlpool membrane includes the capillary flow resistor.So, I'll probably stick with the Whirlpool brand at Lowe's.

(More customer reviews)I tried the Smokestop filter for the Blueair 402 model, but these are the exact same, only different sized to accommodate the larger models. If you have any issue with odors or cigarette smoke, this is the filter to get.

I had an extreme situation where there was a methane leak in my neighborhood. The fumes were claimed by authorities to be "safe," but I and many other neighbors suffered from headaches, dizziness and nauseousness. The fumes burned at your eyes and it was pretty unbearable. Well, turns out this was to recur for the next few nights, and with no other place to stay, I invested in a Smokestop filter to temporarily replace my particle filter. It was INCREDIBLE. Immediately, all the fumes in the room were swept up by the Blueair and I was able to spend my time in this room with no health issues. (Whenever I left the room to another part of the house, all the previously mentioned symptoms returned.)

What's the difference between the Smokestop and the regular particle filter? This filter has a layer of activated charcoal that captures odors, and still has the familiar particle filtering layers, all built into one. Simple concept, and yes, a lot of other air cleaners have charcoal, but this one is specific to the Blueair and it's unique air-cleaning technology. After my experience with the noxious fumes in my home, I am completely sold on the effectiveness of this product. If you have any odor issues in your home, then spring a little extra dough for these filters. They are well worth the extra bucks.

The Bluair is simply the best I have ever used.There has been a noticable reduction in airborn allergens in my place.I have even weened off my allergy meds.Using this in conjunction with allergy reducing pillow cases and mattress covers will improve your quality of life by 100%
The ONLY thing I wish the machine had was a UV light, but you can keep the negative ION crap.

There are 2 1/2 diameter filters and 4 in diameter filters. In my case I use a 10 inch by 2 1/2 replaceable cartridge for my countertop filter. I search for dealers with the best price. In this case Amazon has everyone beat. The Matrikx +PB-1 is a great heavy duty filter, among the best all around. I have been using them for many years.
