(More customer reviews)I purchased these instead of the GE WMF filter because the GE's were SOOO expensive. This is the first time I've purchased something other than GE filters. They work just fine. One thing I would say, though, is make sure you turn the water off to the frig before you change the filter. My husband didn't do that and we had a flood in the frig.

(More customer reviews)I have a 5 year old Insinkerator hot water dispenser.I purchased this brand name replacement filter.Only when it arrived it wouldn't fit.The top has a very small hole to join the tubing (1-2 mm), but the fixture you attach the filter to has one that is close to 1cm.I called insinkerator and they said it was just a plug and to pull it out.I tried and it tore out in pieces.I had to use a round file to make the opening large enough and smooth enough to allow it to fit. Clearly it was not a plug.The box came with 2 filters the other one was the same way so I drilled it out.Obviously they have changed the way these filters fit their fixtures and their support personal are clueless.The same thing happened when I had to replace the tank itself after 3 years.They didn't make the same tank so I had to replumb the sink in order for it to fit.Needless to say I wouldn't have another Insinkerator product.Something this simple shouldn't be such a pain in the ass.I would give it no stars but the system wouldn't let me.

(More customer reviews)I've been using the Brita faucet mount for 2 years now. Our water is VERY hard, with sulfur smells and rust, and the Brita works as well as our reverse osmosis unit, which has three in-line filters. Plus, it doesn't slow down like the reverse osmosis unit does when using lots of water (family gatherings, etc). It is NOT as fast as normal tap water, so don't go thinking you'll get tap-water speed out of such an intense filter. I have to replace the filter approximately every 2-3 months, depending on usage. Very handy when the r/o unit starts running out of water. I tend to use both the r/o and the Brita when filling a pot for boiling, etc just to make it go faster. I've used both the PUR and Brita, Brita works better on our water, although, for best taste, I also run it through a pitcher filter (as I said, our water is BAD). Tastes better than spring water!

(More customer reviews)The price on this item appears to have gone up by about $20.00 in the last two weeks.These are the same exact filters sold by Sears for use in their high-end Kenmore Elite's (built by LG in 2005).I compared build, quality, part number, and packaging.However, when I purchased them they were about half the price compared to sears (I bought a two-pack).

Installation is via a simple twist-lock method.So, if you are replacing the filter for the first time, simply push and twist to remove and push and twit to install.Do not call Sears to do this.They charge a significant fee.For those who have a whole house water filtration system, or an inline (to refrigerator) filtration system (I use a Culligan good water reverse osmosis), the filters should last TWICE as long at the least.I have had many people argue that I do not need a water filter at the refrigerator if I have another system in place.I disagree.I like the idea of a backup in case of equipment failure.

The LG 5231JA2006B / LT600P Premium Ice and Water Filter is LG's newest filter. The LT600P Filter fits most LG Side-by-Side & Bottom-Freezer refrigerators, and all Kenmore "795" Series refrigerators - including Kenmore Trio (three-door or "French door") models with the water dispenser on the outside of the refrigerator door. It does not fit Kenmore Trio models with the water dispenser on the inside wall of the refrigerator. The LT600P improves the taste and odor of the water and removes the following impurities: 96.7% of Mercury, 99.31% of Lead, 95.9% of Atrazine, 96.3% of Benzene, 93.06% of 2,4-D, 99.09% of Lindane, 99.99% of Cysts, 99.3% of Turbidity, 99.9% of Particulates (Class I), 97.6% of Chlorine Taste & Odor. (More customer reviews)I had been using the smarller Britta pitcher(holds 5 glasses).That works wonderfully by the way,just too small for larger families or seriouswater drinkers. The only complaint with that was the size caused me to have to fill it constanly as I drink a lot of water. So I decided to upgrade. First I purchased the faucet mount filter and was disappointed.The thing moves slower than molassas!I returned that and was going to get a standard pitcher filter setup but decided to go with this one because it was onlyfour dollars more than a pitcher that held ten glasses of water.This provides 18 glasses of the best tasting water ever.I live in an area where our water is reputed to be among the best in the country(at least that what the local officials say) and this only improves on it!!Now I fill this up,put it on a shelf in the fridge and voila,I have great tasting ice cold water at my fingertips.I think this is much more cost effective than buying bottled water.The best part of it all?My kids have now become water drinkers!!It might be because of the easy to use tap,which by the way makes this much more convienant to use as opposed to the pitcher.Although they swear that they drink more water now because it "just tastes better".
I am, so far, very pleased with this sytem.I think it is a wise investment.
Great tasting water without the chlorine smell or taste at a great price!It doesn't get much better than that as far as I can see!!!!!!!

Product Description:
Think of it as water filtration for dummies. You don't even need to keep an eye on the calendar, the electronic sensor lets you know with a flashing arrow when it's time to change filters. (More customer reviews)We always kept two boxes of these on hand as replacements when we used our Brita filter pitcher (we went to an in-line because we drink so much filtered water --we'd go through 40 gallons in no time, but that is a LOT of water.) There are three "gotcha's" on these filters to be aware of:
1. Do not let the filter dry out. When the pitcher is empty, you should refill the reservoir right away. When the pitcher is full or partly full, the bottom of the filter is in the water and keeping moist.
2. The filter needs to be soaked and flushed exactly according to directions. Some of the charcoal packing comes off in the flushing process, and if you don't take care of it, you will have specks in the water. This is no big problem, just something to be aware of.
3. Never put overly warm or hot water through the filter.
If you follow the directions, you will have, as we did, gallons of water that cost a lot less and taste as good or better than the water you buy in plastic containers in the supermarket.
