Product Description:
The Frigidaire WFCB PureSourcePlus Refrigerator water filter fits most Frigidaire refrigerators made before 2001. It replaces frigidaire part numbers 5303917752, RF-200, RC200, RC-200, RC-101, and Sears Kenmore part number 46-9906, used in Kenmore refrigerators that are made by Frigidaire (model numbers starting with 253). Most refrigerators with this water filter have a sliding month marker built into the fridge above the filter housing. The PureSourcePlus filter cartridge itself has white ends, like the one pictured. It improves the taste and odor of the water and removes the following impurities: 99.99% of Cysts, 99.80% of Particulates (Class I), 99.70% of Turbidity, 99.30% of Lead, 97.80% of Chlorine (Class I), 94.2% of 2,4-D (a herbicide), 94.9% of Atrazine (a herbicide), and 87.5% of Toxaphene (a pesticide). It Does Not Remove Flouride. Frigidaire recommends that you replace the filter every 6 months OR if the refrigerator has not been used for more than two weeks (for instance, during a move) OR if you notice a decrease in the flow of water or objectionable tastes in the water or ice.

(More customer reviews)I bought a 6 pack of these Frigidaire water filters so I would have enough to last 2-3 years.
They can be used for approximately 6 months before needed replacement. I did notice that the
filters really should be changed maybe around 4-5 months instead. The signs of it needed changing
is when the water flow seems slower and the stream is not as forceful as normal. They are very
easy to remove and replace in my Frigidaire side by side. When I saw how much Lowes wanted for
the same filters, I decided to purchase these on Amazon from a trusted seller.
I highly recommend these filters for general water filtering.
If you want a special filter that removes all chemicals including Fluorine, be prepared to
spend a lot more.

(More customer reviews)we saw the positive reviews here and thought 'how bad can it be?' well let me tell you - *beyond bad - it's awful*. we have had our Frigidaire fridge for 5 years. used pure source filters from an online filter vendor since. this time, when i stumbled upon the RG100 generic filters here, read some positive reviews (and especially noting the price), i decided to give it a shot. result was a week of awful tasting water that did not improve with continued use. we tried to be patient with these filters. thought they would improve with time. but we ended up pouring gallons of water down the sink in vain. it got to the point that when a guest asked for a glass of water the other day, i felt embarrassed to pour her some. well lesson learned. now i know the $30 expense for the pure source filter is well worth it. we replaced these with said filter from a local store this weekend. thank god for good, clean tasting water. and i must say - i am totally confused by the good reviews here.

The advertisement states you will receive a "Frigidaire PureSourcePlus Ice & Water Filter (WFCB, 46-9906)". The product did not come in a Frigidaire PureSourcePlus package...just plastic wrap. I installed the filter and the water came out jet black. I ordered two of them so I tried the second filter, and the water was jet black again. This has never happened with Frigidaire filter.

I checked the invoice and it said they are Frigidair WFCB/RC-200 "Compatible" Replacement Regrigeragor Water Filters. If the company is selling a "compatible" filter, and not the manufacturer's filter why does the Amazon site describes and has a picture of the Frigidaire filter?

I e-mailed the company and they replied "Thank you for your order and email. From your description your new filters need to be flushed."

I ended up spending a lot more money and bought a Frigidaire filter but the water now does not taste the same.

This has been my worst online purchase experiences with Amazon.

In addition, while we did not request a refund the company subsequently wrote back and stated that they would credit our account since we were not happy with the purchase.While the company's customer service department was prompt and responsive, the Amazon website description should reflect the item being purchased in order to avoid confusion.

WF1CB is supposed to replace RG-100, which fits all PureSource equipped refrigerators produced after April 2001. It has a rated capacity of 6-9 months, or 400 gallons, whichever comes first.
