(More customer reviews)I bought this for emergency use.Living near the coast of NC it is hurricane season and I wanted to keep something readily available in case the water supply gets tainted.I have not used the kit yet, but the low review is because the chemical tablets in the kit expire in Aug 2010.This means they will expire less than a year from now.It states a manufacture date of July 2007 (3-year shelf life), so receiving this in late Sept 2009 is very disappointing to me for this type of product.Since it will get us through this season combined with the shipping cost of sending it back, I will probably keep it.As far as replacement/additional tablets for the kit hopefully I can find them locally, because buying online I may end up in the same situation.

(More customer reviews)I almost bought the platypus but being it doesn't filter viruses, I fortunately found the Sawyer .02 filter. Lifetime filter guaranteed (million gallon). Fill and hang, gravity does all the work. However Moontrail sells this for $163.00 so get it from them. This compacts well and is light!
