(More customer reviews)I've had this pitcher for about 18 months. Everytime I replace the filter cartridge, I follow the directions about soaking the cartridge to no avail. So many granules come out during the soaking process. But, so many more come out once the cartridge is installed! Who wants black stuff in their water? I gave it a chance, through 5 cartridges. The water didn't taste much different, either. Time to try a different one.

(More customer reviews)Ahhhh... the Brita filters.They're like magic.You put in your tap water with a bad after taste, and it comes out tasting like water should... like nothing!

They don't filter everything; they don't purify (kill bacteria), but they sure do make the water taste good and take out much of the harmful additives.

Also, they are cheap compared to buying water and don't cause nearly as much waste as bottled water.They also save energy because they do not use massive amounts of fuel (truck or human!) for hauling.

Besides, you know most bottled waters are from the tap anyway, don't you?

(More customer reviews)The picture of the product is different from what I received. I wanted the older version of the Brita Standard Water Pitcher because the height is perfect for the top shelf of my refrigerator. If I lower the shelf, it creates wasted space above and less space below.

(More customer reviews)I've been using this Mavea filter for over 2 months, I have the original model of the PUR pitcher and it fits just as good as the OEM PUR filters do.

The Mavea seems to filter the water better than the PUR, especially when it's just about time to change out to a new one.

I also like the fact I don't have to take time to soak a new filter, but it is recommended to run through 2 pitchers of water through before drinking one.
